Welcome to the Foreign Service IT Professionals Association Web site!

FSITP is the acronym for Foreign Service Information Technology Professional. This refers to a specific, rotational job stream within Global Affairs Canada (GAC), the Canadian government department that manages diplomatic relations and international trade. FSITP’s are Canadian public servants who manage and support IT infrastructure and services at Canadian embassies, high commissions, and consulates around the world. The role is rotational, meaning professionals are expected to work both in Canada (usually in the National Capital Region) and on international assignments (postings)

The Foreign Service IT Professional function was created in 2003 with the merger of the EL and the CS functions. It’s already been over 20 years! If you have pictures of FSITP’s in action around the world, pictures from any of the posting lunches or ITP conferences, or text contributions such as a story or an obituary, please send your content using the mail link at the bottom of the page.
